Kaiser Foundation Hospital Seismic Strengthening

This project included structural remediation work at this 6-story, 500,000 square foot acute care hospital (OSHPD). During pre-construction, the team mapped every utility located above the corridors and ceilings in the hospital to create as-built mechanical and electrical drawings. Every beam to column steel connection was ultrasonically tested to determine its structural integrity.

Kaiser Permanente presented the “Team Excellence Award” to the Project Team of the Kaiser Woodland Hills Medical Center Seismic Strengthening. Each year Kaiser Permanente recognizes the accomplishments of a team that provides continuous outstanding performance. The criteria for the award were: team work, commitment to increase accountability for results, and cost savings.
