Angelus Temple Sanctuary

This project featured the renovation of this sanctuary which is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, and included both seismic and architectural restoration.  McCormick managed the upgrade of the acoustical and audio/visual systems, as well as the redesign of the stage area to include a structural steel moment frame to support line-array speakers and custom light trusses.  Throughout construction, the historic preservation features of the building were maintained, while upgrading to today’s standard for worship services and productions. A highlight of the project was the installation of a unique cable and rigging system in a wheel spoke scheme suspended just below the historic dome in order to support acoustical baffle “clouds” designed to resolve acoustical challenges.
